Tempo de Mudança: Obama toma posse hoje – Time of Change: Obama takes over today

Hoje, o mundo acompanhará um momento histórico. Terá início o governo do 44º presidente dos Estados Unidos da América: Barack Hussein Obama. Em seus primeiros atos durante esta semana, Obama decidiu investir em símbolos caros à luta dos negros daquele país. Por mais que tenha passado toda a sua campanha evitando uma discussão racial e afirmando que buscaria a união de toda a sociedade estadunidense, ele mostra, com a decisão de discursar no mesmo lugar onde Martin Luther King fez o seu discurso histórico, e de fazer o juramento da presidência sobre a bíblia utilizada por Abraham Lincoln, que sua vitória representa mais um passo da sociedade americana contra a segregação racial. Quem poderia imaginar há dois anos que os EEUU teriam um presidente negro ainda nesta década? Que ele teria um nome árabe - Hussein? Os desafios de Obama são imensos, mas a sua chegada à presidência representa um momento ímpar da história mundial. Boa sorte Obama!

Today, the world will follow a historic moment. The government of the 44th president of United States of America - Barack Hussein Obama – will be inaugurated. In his first acts this week, Obama has decided to invest in expensive symbols of black struggle in that country. For more that has passed all his campaign while avoiding a racial discussion and saying he seek the union of the whole U.S. society, he shows, with the decision to speak in the same place where Martin Luther King gave his historic speech, and to do oath of the presidency on the Bible used by Abraham Lincoln, that his victory represents a further step in American society against racial segregation. Who could have imagined two years ago that the U.S. would have a black president yet in this decade? Or he would have an Arabic name - Hussein? The challenges are immense for Obama, but his arrival to the presidency is a unique moment in world history. Good Luck Obama!
